if you are going to get the gravity and run those same tires... you will have even more problems as the only offset available is +35
if you get the hiros in the +45 you will be ok...
i still don't get how you rub with 245 on a +37 offset... I am going to put in a 5mm spacer on my 18x8.5 +35 245/40-18 sometime in the coming days

i don't know why either and its pain in the ass. wheels were going to be my second to last mod and i've researched alot about the clearance and it just didn't work out. they were sitting out more than alignment or fender roll could fix.
i'm gonna have to deal around with the tire shop to trade back the momos in for axis. guess i'll go with axis hiro +45 in antracite color if i can

The rubbing problem on your rims are the tires.
245 makes the tire wider, /40 makes the tires higher.
If you want to get rims under a 40 offset, make sure you're running /35 sidewall, if you're planning on going past 8.5 and above width, stretch it by going below 235s in the front.
My recommendation would be for you to buy 2 new tires for the front, sell those 2 tires for cheap, raise your rear a little, and use those 5 zigens.
Those MOMOs are absolutely hideous!

^^ I agree with the momo's, those 5zigens are super clean and still very new. run smaller tires and get more negative camber. youll be fine..
right now im running 18x8 with a +37 offset. with H&R race springs. oh did i mention im running 20mm spacers aswell. you do the math. LOL and im COMPLETLY fine. thats bcuz i have 225s. oh and im talkin about the rears BTW

yea these momos are damn nasty everytime i look at them. so you don't even have to mention about it.
local tl with 18x8.5 +40mm with 255/35/18 tires actually tuck inside the fenders. its lowered with tein ss coils too. so i don't see why 245/40/18 with +37mm offset wouldn't fit in. also these MOMOs are 18x8 +40mm too and they tuck in the fenders. i have a feeling that 5zigen fucked up the offset on my wheels. they offer +32 and +25 offset on my 5zigens.

and axis does not offer +45mm offset on Hiros either. so i don't have any wheels that'll solve the rubbing unless i get smaller tires.
tire shop will take back the wheels with restocking fees so i'll return them and get new set of tires. maybe 235/40/18 or even 235/35/18. wasn't gonna reuse the 5zigens because they sit out too much and rocker/door panels are attacked by rocks and road debris

oki.. i couldn't stand the momos anymore so i returned them for 70% of what i paid and got new size tires with the trade in. it'll be last mod for my tl so i took a dib even if this was money losing game.
new tires are Nexen N7000 UHP AllSeason 235/40/18. was very impressed with the ride and handling compared to GoodYear F1 AS. goodyear with more agressive tread design, steering feedback wasn't really good for rough roads. needed lotta steering correction. also goodyears were more stiffer and louder on highways.
about the rubbing issue. with the 235s they don't rub so far and i believe it'll not anymore without altering the suspension height. spokes of the 5zigen wheel arches out alot and lip of the wheel is almost flush with the fenders. i think this is why i've been rubbing with the 245s when others did not. also goodyear's shoulder is much wider than the nexens. its 10mm difference by the numbers but in reality goodyears were about inch wider (~23mm).
no one tried these 5zigens on the tl so i became the guneapig of tire fitment..
if someone else wants 5zigen ZR+520 with stock height, 245/40 will work and 235/40 for the ones who are lowered. 245/40 with lowering kit will RUB.

you mean what if it was lowered on aspec suspension? it should work since aspec lowers little less than a inch. my eibach prokits are said to be 1" drop but obviously it dropped more than a inch by just looking
