Smile Kumho Ecsta ASX purchased last night.

I just bought a pair of Kumho Ecsta ASX last night. My back tires were just about bald at only 11,400 miles. So I called Acura and told them and the guy in service said that was unusual for the tires to wear that fast but Acura could not warrant them because it is not a Honda part. He suggested that I go to Firestone and see if they would warrant the tire so I did. The guy at firestone looked in the computer and showed me that the EL42's do not have a specific mileage on it so they could not warrant it. So I went to Pep Boys and purchased the Kumhos. I had them to put the front EL42's on the back and they put the Kumhos on the front. Today while I was driving and I noticed the tire to be a lot quieter. It also has a better ride quality and it corners better. If you guys go to tirerack.com you'll see the Kumhos have very good ratings. I expect my ride to get even better whenever I change the other two tires out. I just thought I'll share this with you all.

And for the price you can't beatem.

I B*thched to birdgestone about the EL42's and they sent me to Firestone who gave me a credit. I got 4 Fuzion ZRi's for $300.00. I too noticed they were much better than the EL42's. Had them on for 4000 miles now and I'm real happy, the handling is GREAT. Come to think of it, anything short of the rims might be better than the EL42's.

FWIW, If any members 'nicely' express your dissatisaction with the EL42 to bridgestone, they'll send you to a Firestone dealer who can hook you up. PS. I had KUMHO Ecsta on my F150 (18" lightning rims) and I LOVED THEM. They were AWESOME TIRES you should be real happy with them.

u just got 2 tires? the rear tires wore out faster than the front? could be a camber issue and it might happen again better get it checked out. have you rotated the tires prior?

Yes. I'm getting the other 2 very soon. I just didn't want to let the 2 EL's go to waste. I'll have to borrow my dad's truck to pick them up and put them in the shed. I didn't feel like doing all of that but think I'm going to have to.

The 2 back tires were actually on the front for the first 8,600 miles, until they were rotated.

Thanks, Mark.

Frist I complained to Acura. They suggested I talk with Bridgstone, so I called the 1-800 customer service number (whined & moaned a little). They sent me to a local firestone dealer (told him the tires had the flatstopping issues, might not be safe for a car like the TL). He gave me some quotes for the fuzions' and contacted his rep. Then he called back and said there would be a credit for each tire.

They were very good to deal with, and I'm VERY happy with the tires so far. BTW the bridgestone / firestone dealer is the same guy who got me KUMHO for my F150. This guy has done good work @ good prices and when I need tires again, they will probably come from him.

My happy driving...
