Koni Yellow & SP3 Comparison/Where to Buy?

Hey guys,

I've been doing some research...but the threads don't give me conclusive evidence.

Basically my questions are, how many adjustment perches front and rear for the Koni Yellows here? 2 front, 3 rear? With the upper perches being "stock" setting? And each perch going down 10 or 20mm?

How many perches on the Koni SP3, 5?, and where to buy them? I can't seem to find em, and don't know which model number.

Regular Koni Yellow Sports have two perches in the front, stock and .6" lower. And three perches in the rear, stock, .6" lower, and .6" higher.

SP3s have five front and back. stock, .3, .6 higher and lower.

As for where to buy...no idea. I bought mine a god awful long time ago. Maybe the Neuspeed kit still comes with SP3s? Check Heeltoe.

BTW, it's pretty easy to switch perches while the suspension is still on the car. I've done it a few times. Which is kind of nice.

Thank you for the info. Also, for the rebound adjustment, is ours just with a knob at the top of the damper, accessible by removing the strut bar (i have aftermarket, so i can just reach the knob) or do we have to spin the whole body?

Thanks.

maharajamd, mind sharing how you were able to swap perches while the Koni's are still on the car? I need to lower my rears but don't want to have to go through the pain of taking them off.

Sure. Wedge a spring compressor up there, compress, move the clip to another perch, uncompress. Lol. I just "rent" them from O'Reilys. Quoted because they only take a deposit that you get back upon return.

You only really have to compress a couple "rings" of the spring to get the space you need. So you don't even have to wedge it that far up.

I ran stock perch for years and then lowered them all the way down. Now I have the front .6" down but the rear .3" as I drive on old cobble roads twice everyday and it was just too low in the rear.

As for adjusting Koni's....the knob is at the top. For the fronts you need to remove the strut bar (easy), the rears you need to remove the rear deck first (pita). IMO just drill out two holes in your rear deck lined up with the knob, rig up something long enough to make the gap, and then buy rubber grommets to fill the new holes. That way you can adjust without having to tear out any interior parts.
