KONI SP3 help!

The dampening adjusting tab on the top of my rear struts won't budge.

They seem to be depressed all the way down too.

Heres a picture:

I contacted Koni this morning and they said that this can happen if an impact gun was used for the top bolts. His suggestion was to compress the spring again and see if the tab pops up. If it doesn't, he recommended I go thru Koni warranty to have them fixed/replaced.

I didn't check them when I bought them to make sure this damage wasn't there already (bought them used)... dammit.

Anyone here have any suggestions?

Also, the struts are double nutted on the top... if I only have 1 nut on a strut, will that nut loosen? I can't find the second nut...

did you use the white koni knob to adjust or pliers?

keep two nuts on each cuz 1 nut will loosen. first nut for tightening and second for locking it. Get replacement nuts from Koni directly.

Also, only use 6-point sockets and boxed-in wrenches. NEVER use 12-point tools

White Koni knob. The rear tab won't budge. Should I try applying more force? I have a spare Koni knob, just in case. I'll order a replacement nut tomorrow. I have them on speed dial this week

Alright thanks for the tip. No 12 pt tools were used.

Yeah some of those bolts are a pain in the ass to access. I'm riding without my rear seats at the moment.... which is convenient as I just reconditioned the leather in my living room! Sweet.

hmmm....not really sure about the rear yo....do you think they are just stuck like "pressed down"?? maybe u can pull up slightly on the adjuster knob. couldve just got jammed from being handled around. just seems bizarre that they woiuld be stuck and wont turn either way....vice-grips and a hammer using a soft touch??

Hmmm they are actually set pretty firm which is what I like. My fronts are set at the firmest setting right now. I may do a 1/4 rev clockwise and call it a day.

Still have to order that nut!
