Koni install question
I recently purchase a set of Koni yellows for my 06 base TL.
The car is already lowered on eibach spring/OEM shocks done by the previous owner.
My plan is to swap the OEM shocks with the Koni yellow and reuse the Eibach springs and call it a day. Now my only concern i have is the top hats. From searching the forum its seem that everyone gets/replaces the top hats. Am i going to run into an issue when installing the shocks or, can i just reuse the old top hats. Im looking to get them done this weekend so any help is much appreciate.

got them installed over the weekend so far i like them. I have not gotten the chance to really enjoy them since it's been raining like cats and dogs out here in NJ. Only issue we had with the install was we broke the clips that hold the rear seat (bottom section) so im now driving around with no back seat.

I did a search before posting and could not find anything that would help
So with that said after finally having two days of nice weather i took the car out last on some moderate windy roads by me. The car handle great doesn't feel floaty or loose like before. As of right now i have all four corners on full soft. Once I put on some miles i will start playing around with the adjustments. Fast forward to today on my way back to work from lunch i notice the right passenger side is now squeaking/creaking. I parked the car and i pushed down on the passenger side and the squeaking/creaking noise is very noticeable. Does anyone know what would cause this?

Could be a bushing that needs to be replaced.

I bet you $1 it is the sway bar mounts. Not the end links, but where the sway bar turns in the grommet as the car moves up and down.(you have to think about that.. then you will understand more about how the twisting of the sway bar occurs (to resist sway) as the mounting grommets hold it in place). As the car leans, the bar twists in the mounting grommets.. But as the car rises and lowers on both sides simultaneously, the sway bar turns in the mounting grommets, causing a possible squeak)
The way to check it is spray a silicone lubricant in the sway bar mounting grommet where it holds the sway bar.. If it is quiet for a few days or so, then you found the problem. If that was the problem, to fix it, you need to get a silicone GREASE and rub it around on the rubber grommet where the sway bar touches it. Or maybe, replace the rubber grommet. But even a new grommet will come with a silicone grease. Silicone resists water.

It was the top hat bushing that were damaged due to improper install. My mechanic (which i should of gone to in the first place) told me that whoever did the install never tighten to bolts down. That cause stress on the bushing and they ripped apart. He fixed everything and even adjusted them for me apparently all four corners were at different settings. So, with that said i am happy everything was fixed
