Just curious, where exactly are the tire pressure sensors located on the wheels?

Anyone know? And how does it look like?

Anyone have a picture where they can circle the exact location?

It's the tire valve itself, where you put the air in.

... and how do they send a reading back to the vehicle?

When switching to winter steel rims, how many people have gone and had tire pressure sensors put in their winter rims? Would there not be issues with doing this, because the car is expecting a certain tire/rim/pressure setup by default, and anything that you have different will generate a warning message... ? Are people who are switching to winter rims just willing to put up with a failure/warning message all winter long?

There is a small sending unit inside of each valve/sensor. They send a signal to a recieiving unit in the car.

If I am not mistaken (and I may be), you only get a warning for low pressure and that kicks in around 28 psi. Or for no signal, which puts up a dummy light in the dash.
