Installed TEIN SS Yesterday

Real easy only took me about 3 hours total. Of course I've done it a few times before(other cars) but I think most could tackle it with no problems. Spent another 20 minutes going over every bolt with my torque wrench just to make sure.

I only removed the top section of the back seat and did not have to use a spring compressor on the rear stock stuff when diassembling for the top hat.

Here is a pic that I took this morning. The TEIN instructions said to put it at standard setting, I felt it was too low and add about 1/4" to that number in th front and a 1/2" in the back. Plan on driving it for a week, adjusting where needed, check torque settings, and then get an alignment. Wheels should be here in 30-40 days!!!

If I get only springs, do I still need an alignment?

Yes, you will still need an alignment. It would be best to drive a little and let the springs settle, then get the alignment.

any time you change the ride height of the car- put on lowering springs or change to adjustable hight coilovers like Tein, you NEED an alignment:
A: to check if you need camber kits- if more than 1.5 degrees negative you may think about them- neg 2 you better stop thinking and start ordering. The more drop the more neg camber comes in
and B:
get the toe set as the height change will throw that off tooand it affects everything else.

Looks good Trevor.

You can a 3-year, all the alignments you want deal at the Tire Kingdom at Camfield Corners (next to Bi-Lo on Elm Lane) for $139.

Laser alignement with before and after printouts vs spec. The GM, Mike, seems to be a good guy and no pressure to buy a camber kit, etc.

Good info, I used to know someone that worked there a long time ago. They always seemed like a good group of guys.

I'm taking it up to a friend of mines shop to put it on their Hunter Laser unit later this week. I figured by then I'll have already put 2-3K miles on it and most of the settling should have occured. I've been driving around with a measuring tape in the car, Ha ha.

Don't forget about me for the next meet. Maybe my wheels will be here by then!

^Yea man nice job looks good.
I put my springs on two or three weeks ago, Bearcat put me on those H&R sports.
But I haven't had it aligned yet cause I'm also waiting for my wheels damn 7 to 10 week lead times!
Then I'll get aligned. It doesn't look of feel like its to out of wack anyway...

The ride is surprisingly good, a little stiff right now @ 8 clicks in all around but the rebound characteristics are very good. I'm installing the EDFC tomorrow and will start playing with the settings to find something for everyday driving.

Hey guys, don't wait *too* long for an alignment. You can ruin a set of tires in a couple thousand miles if the aligment is way off.

And once aligned, putting tires/wheels on shouldn't change it. Even if it does, that's the beauty of 3-year type plan.

Very nice Trevor!

The strut bar that will allow you to install the edfc motors is the greddy 03+ Honda Accord strut bar. I've been running that on mine for 2 years or so and it works great.

Did you have the dreded rear suspension clunk before you did the work, if so, did this solve the issue?

Thanks

No, I did not have the clunk that I've read about.

The quality of this product is really good. Every aftermarket suspension that I've owned in the past made noises. The only thing I hear moving around on this system are the EDFC motors!

Of course its new so time will tell but I don't think there will be any problems.

What up Trev? Good to see you made it on the forums. Gabe told me about the Racing Harts your getting. They sound sick, the whip is looking beautiful by the way. Drop is about perfect, I only get my car aligned at Mike Wheel alignment in Monroe. He has done every car perfect for me for the past 10 years.
