don't get the Bridgestone LS-Z's.

Bridgestone replaced my EL 42's with the LS-Z's. The last two nights it have dropped below 40 and when I get in the car the first five miles feels like I'm heading out west in a stagecaoch. The car shakes violently for the first couple miles at any speed over 45 mph.

Guess it is time to head back to the Firestone dealer and see what they offer next. Considering these tires sell for over $1200 for the set, one would think they could keep the tires from flatspotting in the cold.

Are there any AS tires in the Bridgestone lineup that don't flatspot as I'm sure they will be very reluctant to change them out with another brand?

I guess dedicated snow tires might be an option for my 17's

Just out of curiosity, are these the LS-Z ZR model? Reason being that tire rack has these tires for as little as $100/tire for our OEM size and the most expensive possibility is just about $200....how can they sell these for over $1200 at Firestone/Bridgestone?

Thanks for your insight.

I do really like the LS-Z's except for the flat spotting. It only take a mile or two for it to go away. I guess I can live with it. I've always thought Bridgestone to be one of the better tire makers in the world. That certainly helps explain the issue.

I am glad to see that I am not crazy--my LS-Zs also have been fairly noisy and have a wicked vibration. It doesnt' go away after a mile--I have a 15 mile commute to work and it usually lasts the entire way, from 45 mph to 70 mph. I had the wheels balanced twice, and soembody with a Hunter Roadforce balancer told me that he could not help. I will live with it for now, and make a change when the tires wear out.
