HyperSilver 18x8 A-Spec wheels Refinished

So... here's the story.. I had a set of 4 'hyper silver' aka 'satin' aka 'ebony chrome' A-Spec wheels. One was damaged beyond repair.

So.. I went ahead and ordered a replacement single wheel from auto rim shop www.autorimshop they sell 'reconditioned' OEM wheels and had a few hyper silver.

Unfortunately, this color is nearly impossible to duplicate as a refinished wheel.

BUT here are photos... it just seems the reconditioned wheel is a tad bit darker. its funny though - in some lighting angles, it looks fine...while in other angles, you can see the difference.

the re-conditioned wheel looks good, but for me as soon as I put them all on the car that's all I will see is one dark wheel

To a trained eye (like ours), you can tell. In daylight, maybe not so bad....

It is incredibly difficult to match that paint color. A friend of mine went through a similar ordeal with his G35. He forced the insurance company to eventually buy him a new wheel, as he would not accept the repair due to color (his car was bumped into wile parked, and one wheel was pushed into the curb). Your only other bet is to get the remaining three painted to match. That's what I would do.

We are all looking at them side by side. It may not even be noticeabke when you get them on the car, where they are further apart, separated by the body and rubber.

They're on the car... shot taken on a cloudy day... can't see much of a difference at all.
Refinished wheel is front driver side:

I noticed it instantly. But that's because I know when of them is off. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have really even batted an eye.

Well.. I'd likely notice it in a photo, but not in person... which is what I think you're going for.

Did you damage the rim recently? How did you manage to do that type of damage? How's the suspension components?
