ht spec type 1 coilovers PICS

OK! FINALLY SOME PICS A WEEK LATER! this is gna be a long process... so if I screw up anywhere or unclear about anything juss lmk!



so incase anyone didn't know.. heres a pic of my car at stock height


this is rear driver side - stock at about 14 1/4"


rear passanger - stock at about 14 1/4"


these are the rear, with about 3/4" threaded on






RIGHT after install with only 1/4" drop reading.. im sure it settled havnt measured that tho



NOW to the fronts - at about 14 5/8"

haha thanks man! loving the ride, HUGE improvment in handling.. cant even imagine how stock feels anymore haha

^ i havnt gotten it yet.. i dont think i'll need one? i'll get an alignment first and see if they can correct it w/out the kit.

So these come ready to install for $600? No swapping over top mounts, etc?

I can haz a reading. "Upper mount with rubber bushing pre-installed for simple installation"

Swapping the top hats is really not a huge deal. If you know what you're doing and have the proper tools, it should only take about ten minutes per shock to get the top hat unmounted from the oem shock and re-mounted on the new coilover. Point being...having or not having "built-in" top hats should not be a deal breaker when you're shopping for coilovers.

Everything's not a big deal when you know what you're doing and have the proper tools.

I know what you mean though. Just saying it adds $140 for a full set of the top mounts if someone wants to keep their old suspension assembled.

Depends what u plan/want from ur set... If you don't mind the firmer ride, improved handling and added confidence in turns, the type 1's will do the job. Although, I wanted to try and keep stock-ish ride height/feel in the beginning (so my dad wouldn't find out I lowered it) but the type 1's gave a bigger-than-expected drop in the front at the "highest" settings and a more sportier ride so it gave it away.. and after getting the type 1, I wanted MORE adjustibility - (hence my change to megans)

so overall - I wouldn't say I regreted the type 1's... I LOVE the set, but I just wanted damper adjustment as well.. So if I were you, I'd say the extra 300 is worth it for the type 2

yes everything alrdy assembled.. its just a direct swap w/ stock

loll so far I'm liking what i have. The front is about half an inch higher than the type 1... but who buys a set of coilovers to go higher? I'm really digging the adjustable damper.. I have it set pretty soft right now,but will probably stiffen it up a bit just so itll feel more confident thru turns. Comfort is not an issue, theres are REALLY comfortable (makes me wonder how much smoother tein SS can be).. It also comes fully assembled w/ top hats which make installation super easy. I would def recommend them if ur in the market

either megans, ht spec type 2 or tein ss would be my top 3 choices

the megans or type 1? haha i've never tried the functon&forms so I cant compare... but the megans are more comfortable on extremely crappy roads that I have to drive on everyday.. the type 1's are also a good ride, its not RIDICULOUSLY stiff but it does have a certain level of firmness in order to support a lowered car and be able to handle well without "feeling like a boat." I sold my ht spec to my friend who has an accord sedan.. so i'll still be around them and can provide more info on them in the long run (if anyone wants) and i'm sure my buddy will enjoy them.

My main concern is how long the coilovers will last, for those guys that have been running these for a long time, how many miles have you had them? I think you testimonal is worth alot to people looking to buy new coilovers. I was all for the megan and then i saw this write up by HeelToe,

You should PM viptl and see what kinda shape theyre in.. hes selling because hes changing his suspension setup to air.. not because they died on him

and the megans, I REALLY feel like they got underscored... they are not an extremely cheap kit (around $900) and got a lower score compared to tein basic? (that doesn't even have damper adjustment) and ride quality a 5? maybe for the tein SS but I havn't heard good things about the basics. The megans feel very comfortable... I do not see how they can be considered "firm", I have it set at 5/4 clicks from softest and its VERY comfortable.. I always have the option of making it more firm if I wanted to tho. its not objective when he says - "as if the ride and cost were related somehow".. I know its not a big deal, but this statement ALONE will turn potential megan buyers away.. I kno I wouldnt have got them if I JUST read that, but I searched around and found many megan users very satisfied.. so I gave it a try

remember, you're asking a distributor "whats the BEST I should get?" - there WILL be some of his opinions in his reasoning, and his brand loyalty will also be a factor,but what do u expect? haha its their job. it's important to find personal reviews on the product

even tho its all opinions and personal preference, it'll be easier to relate to someone else's daily life and compare it to what you'll be using it for.

this essay is not completely factual, its all opinion and things from my point of view. Hope this helps, lmk if you care for more long explanations haha
