How high can you stack wheels/tires?
 

is there any problem with stacking 8 wheels/tires in a single column for the season? would this be too much pressure or could it deform the wheels or tires or something?

does it matter whether they are steel or alloy wheels? anyone have any idea?

I doubt stacking them would be an issue. Just use some cardboard in between each wheel as a buffer so when you're stacking them you don't scratch the rim below it. I always stack my summer/winter set for the season with no issues. Granted that's only 4 rims at a time, but I don't think stacking 8 would be a problem either.

only issue is scratching the rim. if you're not worried about that it'll be fine. the rim on the bottom is holding 7 rims, which(with tires) come out to approx 340 lb. that's nothing because a wheel is impacted by over 1000 lbs of force everyday

half the year it's 8 winter tires on steelies, so i don't care about scratching.

i'll put some cardboard between the wheels when i'm storing the summer/all season tires to avoid scratching, and put my wife's wheels on the bottom cause she isn't as picky about how the wheels look anyway ;)

One thing to keep in mind is if they are on a cement floor you should have a buffer between the tire and the cement .. I usually just use a couple 2 x 4 on the flat.

What are you using to mount your tires?

I typically put cardboard on the floor.

don't tires sag if you store them vertically?

i wish i had more garage space. i'm in a new townhouse, and these days they literally build the garage to fit your car and that's about it. i could mount the wheels on the wall, but then i'd hit them with my door every time i get in/out of the car :(

i'm glad i even have enough space to stack in one column in a little corner

when storing, deflate tires to 15-20psi. I've been storing on wall for a couple of years now and no issues with the tires at all. they are also bagged up of course.
