I called the dealership yesterday and spoke with my salesperson who informed me that Acura was replacing the EL42s with Michelin tires on TL w/Navi but not on TL without. I asked her why were navi owners special and she had no idea and I told her that this was totally unfair and I would continue to complain because I know this has been an issue. I then asked her were navi owners better and why would Acura continue to put EL42s on the TL when they know they have a problem? She had no idea and she agreed with me. What are the proper steps to getting my tires replaced with the knowledge that I obtained from my saleswoman?

It’s almost impossible to value the reasons or strategies why Acura carries on to put those EL42s on some TLs, especially on non-Navi TLs. Maybe, Acura has to deliver their contract with Bridgestone, or Acura intends to clean out all their leftover EL42s in the stock. Whatever reasons are, Acura makes non-Navi 05TLers unhappy at this stage. But, as I've heard, some of Acura dealers do provide Michelin tires to all their 05 TLs, we don't know why...


Best of luck to you. If Acura really works on the swap of tires (from EL42s to Michelins), they may replace yours if you keep on fighting for it...
