Help, where do you think the dealer put the wheel lock key

Today was the first day I needed to take a wheel off. I was shocked to see that the wheels had wheel locks on them! I looked for the key in the obviously places (wheel jack area, trunk nooks and crannies, glove box), but I can't find the key. I'll called the dealership (Montgemeryville (PA) Acura), but they are closed for the rest of the weekend .

Do you guys have any thoughts on where the dealship might have put wheel lock key (that is if it's even in the car somewhere)?

Mine was in the original box in the glove compartment area. They never use our keys, as they have there own sets of keys. I would say try possibly under the seats? may have rolled up in there.

You've probably checked the center console area and the side sunglass holder area, no? I hope you still have the packaging that has the McGard serial # in case you have to order it.

Center console yes, side sunglass area no, I'll that that out, thanks.

I've got nothing about these locks . I didn't even know they were on the car until I tried to rotate my tires today. Hopefully a large pair of vice grips will do the job (although I'll wait until hearing from the dealer before I do anything rash). Thank God I was home and not on the road when this happened!

Good point, I guess I could bring it to a local dealer (the orginal deal is far away) if they have master keys.

Aren't there like 6 different types of lock keys? I meant that they had those individual keys, not Master Keys

Well i had a situation where the wheel lock they left me in the glove box totally didnt fit the locks on my rims. I took it straight to the service dept complaining about it the service advisor actually confirmed that techs dont use our locks they have there own set. Not all wheel locks are the same . The tech actually came out with like a box of different coded wheel locks to find one that matches mine.

That doesn't make any sense. Why have locks if they all have the same key?

I doubt as well that they all have the same key. When I bought my car the dealer could not locate the lock. So he drove it in the garage and replaced all the lugs giving me a new lock. Wouldn't he just have given me the lock.

Think of how safe that would be.

If you don't find it & you absolutely NEED to take your tires off ... smaller socket + hammer = tire off.

Yeah check to see if you have the original blister pack with the 4 lugs that they replaced.

OMG, you guys rock! That's where it was. I thought that that pack was a new, unopened pack (since it didn't look open to me)! I was like, well I can sell these if I can find the key for the ones already on the wheels. Then after reading this post and the dealer returning my call from Sat. night, I went out to check and viola, it wasn't a new pack, and contained the four original lugs and the key.

D'oh!

Thanks guys, this forum rocks as usuall!
