Help with Wheel Selection

Question for everyone who has aftermarket wheels. What size would you recommend? If you have 18's, do you wish you had 19's or 20's? I personally am looking at getting a set of 19 or 20's but how low of a profile tire are you using with this setup? Do you feel as if your comfortable ride is sacrificed with bigger wheels and less tire? Did you have to roll your fenders? Thanks in advance for all the responses. This will assist me in choosing the right wheels for my car.

hmmm personally i will keep the whhels from a range of 17 to 19. You can always sacrifice the tire size if you increase the rim but the tire will be very flat. or reduce the rim and increase the wheel. It really deppend what you like. just be careful to not increase it too much to avoid fenders damage. keep it 17 to 19 max. the standard measure is 17 x 7.5. the max diameter is 20, you cant pass that .
probably ill do on mine a rim 18 in a couple of months.

i have aftermarket 18x8 with OEM spec'd tires (conti DWS-235/40/18). i really had no desire to go bigger as i wanted to keep at OEM specs without sacrificing ride quality or messing with the speedo by running different widths and size of rims by going 19. also, b/c of the area in which i drive, we can have potholes the size of cars so 18's provide enough rubber to somehwat protect the rim in the event of a pothole. run 19's of 20's, kiss your wheel goodbye.

for the TL i wouldn't go bigger than 19. but that's me. 20
s are almost too much rim for the wheel well on the TL (its all for looks IMO). guys rolling their fenders are usually slamming their cars or running wider tires or both or running spacers. depends on what you are going for.

i like balance between looks and performance. bottomline, what are YOU looking to do for your car? what do you want?
