Help me decide

I own a 2004 TL base with only 40k miles reason being my mom owned it before me. I just got my a-spec kit install and think it would look much nicer with a 1” all around drop. I am only planning on driving this car for another 2 or 3 years maybe….

My question is how much longer will my shocks hold considering the car’s current year and mileage?

Regarding installation…how difficult is it to install? My friend who is experienced with working with his own cars said he is willing to help. But do you guys think this is something that should be done by a professional technician?

If you are looking for a 1" drop look in comptech or eibach springs they both offer a subtle 1" drop. Your struts should be fine granted they are still in decent condition. You shouldn't have a issue with putting either one of those springs on there. However if you are worried about it, might be a good idea to just replace both the struts and springs at the same time will save you time later down the road to take the suspension apart again to put new struts. So could do it at the same time as far as struts you can look into konis, hp tokicos, etc. I would say unless you are knowledgeable about suspensions to the part of assembling them let a professional do them for you.
