Hey Gang,

I have an '05 TL with 50K miles and it's about time I change tires and would like to get your opinion on what tires to get.

Living in SF, it's mostly dry driving, with a few downpours here and there. Mostly highway driving at moderate-spirited speeds (55-85 mph), depending on traffic flow.

Although I love the way my TL handles, the tire noise after 5 years of owning the car is getting on my nerves (could be I'm getting older myself!), so I'm looking for a tire that will help the noise/feel/comfort of ride without totally killing the performance of the car.
I would like to keep the cost of the tire to under $200 each, but will go higher if I can find a tire that:
1. Produces a comfortable/smoother ride
2. Handles well. Maintains performance of the TL.
3. Will last longer than 40K miles
4. Will handle all seasons (as I go to Tahoe every so often)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Ah... and what do you think about buying tires online? TireRack.com? Any others I should check?
