HEEEELLLLLPPPPP!
I have a 2008 base TL and need to get new tires immediately. i know NOTHING about cars and tires. I am just a basic driver, but I do want tires that handle well and perform decently in rain. They have to be reasonably priced. What do you guys recommend?

Need more info.....What type of tire? Summer? All Season? How many miles you expect to get out of them.....If you look more in this tires sub forum there are plenty of threads on tire comparison.

If you don't drive in snow get continental DW, if you do dive in snow get continental DWS. Both these tires are great! I have DWS which you can find for under 135 ea if you look hard enough, the DW have great handling and do great in rain not so much in snow. I believe the dw's are about 145 could be wrong tho. The DWS have a 50k warranty on them, again I'm not sure what kind of warranty DW's have.
DWS= dry-wet-snow
DW= dry-wet
These tires even have DWS and DW written on the tread and when that letter is worn off it means it's no longer good for that season.

Thank you SLPR and Callahan for the replies. I ended up getting some Falkens. In the future I will not think that I can get some more use out tires that are showing wear and drive around until one of them starts to shred! I think being in an emergency position where I can't do much research really cost me. At the first sign of wear on these tires I will start my research and replace my the tires soon after.
