Have you guys ever replace your 215/50/17's?

If so, what did you replace it with and how much p/ tire??

I need to replace my tires, but the Michelins are mad expensive. Any other suggestions or a possible lower grade?

I switched over to 225/45 17s. Sumitomo HTR+. Best bang for your buck man. Can't go wrong with these. Only $99 each. I wouldn't consider them "lower grade" at all. If anything, I think the stocks are lower grade than my Sumis. Check'em out at TireRack.

The Sumi's are also available in the stock 215/50/17 size. I'd recommend that you stick with the stock size, as the 225/45/17 is not supposed to be mounted on a 6.5" rim, which is what the TL-S comes with.

If you don't need all seasons I would highly recommend either:

Firestone Firehawk 215/50/17
Dunlop SP9000 215/50/17
Toyo TS1 215/50/17

Check tirerack for whichever is cheapest.

The Dunlop FM901 has received nothing but bad reviews, especailly it is as noisy as snow tires. Try to stay away from it.

I agree but it is car specific. The FM901's tend to do okay with Civics and Integra's but any car that is either heavy or putting a lot of torque to the wheel needs a more substantial tire.

Check out Dunlop SP Sport 5000s. They are Z & W-rated ultra high-performance all season tires. I just replaced a set that lasted 60,000 miles on my '97 Maxima. Awesome grip in the dry, great in rain and snow, quiet, and as you can see from my experience they last. Plus they only cost around $125 a tire. When I wear out the stock tires on my TL-S this is what I will be getting.

Well, here's the deal. I focked up one of my front tires spinning in the snow, so I'll have to get the front two replaced. If I go with the 225's I'll have to replace all 4, right?!!? The back two stock tires only have about 35k mi. on them.

What to do?
