H&R Sport Springs review

This weekend I finally got around to replacing my LCA bushings, ball joints, axles and while I was at it some H&R sport springs. I ended up reusing the stock dampers with 135k on them. I was after a mild to moderate "classy" drop and reducing some of that nasty stock body roll.

Install was straight foreward on this car. A couple tips..No need to remove the rear deck , just the seats. Just remove the RSB bracket and push it out of the way on the rear. Make sure of the orientation of the top hats is correct. On many cars Ive worked on in the past you can easily just spin the damper to align the top hat, not on these shocks.

I'm very happy with the end result. Ride is noticeably firmer, but didn't get harsh over bumps and potholes. There is a significant reduction in body roll, which makes cruising backroads far more fun. In a perfect world the car would i'd like the car to remain more flat through turns, but you can only expect so much from these springs. I'm coming from a $3k+ set of KW clubsports that were on my evo, so I had been spoiled for quite some time. All in all, for $200, I am very satisfied. Now I just need some spacers...

On a side note, I'm getting a clunking from my drivers rear over potholes and bumps, I need to check the sway bar endlinks. If anyone has any other ideas, feel free to speak up.

My only other suggestion would be to look at the lower rubber shock mount. That might also be where an issue of clunking may be originating.

How is your rear tire wear? I was thinking of purchasing H&R lowering springs for my TL as well, however I was debating whether or not I needed to buy a camber kit.

It ended up being a sway bar end link that was causing the noise. The boot was pretty much gone and the joint was barely intact.

I can't comment much on tire wear yet. I did notice a bit of camber wear when I had the tires off recently, it's needed an alignment for quite some time now. I plan on getting it done this week if I have time and will post up the specs if you are curious.
