Goodyear or Michellin

I'm getting ready to replace my stock Bridgestone Turanza tires after 24,000 miles. I live down here in New Orleans where its always hot, humid and rainy.

I've been looking at getting either the Goodyear Eagle F1 or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I'd like a tire that will have have better tread life (i.e. 25,000+ miles), but not sacrifice performance and the smooth ride of the TL.

Any recommendations?

I replaced my stock tires with Michelin Pilot A/S. My car has 26,000 miles on it and the tires need to be replaced. I do not drive the car hard. Maybe living in Florida has something to do with the tires wearing out so quickly. They have been good tires but I don't know if it is worth spending the extra money. I am going to replace them with Toyo Proxes 4's.

Try the Fuzion ZRi from Firestone. They're dirt cheap and you get a 30-day test drive. Lots of good reports in this forum and at TireRack.com.

Also, Avon Tech 550's, but they're about $30 more than the Fuzions.

NO...Go with the 245 Toyo Proxes 4. Best decision I ever made with this car. It'll absorb all those NO bumps and save those rims. Honest injun.

I replaced the stock Bridgestone Turanza's with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's at about 1500 miles because the Bridgestone's were pretty bad in the snow (and pretty much everything else). They are a huge improvement in handling under all conditions over the Bridgestone's. Overall, I love them. My only complaint is that they are fairly noisy. They are getting noisier as they have more miles on them. How noisy? At highway speeds, I remember snow tires that I had that seemed quieter.

I now have 25k on them and am debating about what to buy when it's time to replace them. I've narrowed it down to another set of Pilots, or a set of Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. I have no experience with the Pirelli's so I'm torn. I like the handling and traction of the Pilots but want to get that with a bit less noise if that's possible.
