good or bad spacer on 6m
what do you guy think about this spacer i have? it's a custom made spacer that is 5mm thick and it's hub centered. the wheels offset are +45 so does it make it a 40 or a 50 offset with the spacer? i have no virbation in the steering wheel and i had the spacer on for about 2 years now.

Wow, I would say your doing pretty good if you have had no issues. I would suggest slightly longer studs if you haven't done so already to make sure your lugs have a nice "bite" to hold the wheel on during hard cornering/driving etc. I believe you are adding 5mm outwards, so your offset would go lower in number. The wheel will still have the same offset technically, but basically you decreased your offset by adding the spacer to allow for your caliper clearance. I may be wrong..if so, my bad, but logically that makes sense to me

yep... 5mm spacer makes a ET45 wheel a ET40 (40mm from the center of the wheel)
hub-centric spacers are a must these days and as long as you have enough thread remaining for the lug nuts you should be fine.
I ran a set of H&R 10mm spacers for 3+ years on the Audi will no issues. They were hubcentric as well.

You're right having enough of stud length is critically important with any spacer otherwise you could have loose lugs, lose a couple of lugs and the wheel could eventually come off. Happened to me before due to a thick spacer and short stud combo on my wheels. But it seems that you not having any of the problems I mentioned so you are safe, no need to get long studs really, check your lugs torque though time to time! The good thing is that having that spacer on will give you more choices wheel wise to clear that fat caliper, a blessing to 6MT guys!
