Going from 245/35/19 to 245/40/18 worth it?

As far as Ride quality is concerned.
I live in NYC pothole city
Anyone ever went from the the 35/19 to 40/18?
I'm considering switching from my 19x9.5 wheels with 245/35 tires
to some 18x9 with 245/40 tires.
I just wanna know if its gonna make any noticeable difference.
If not I might downgrade back to Type-S wheels

I have not done it, but you will have more sidewall to absorb those potholes, should be a noticeable difference.

That's what I'm going to do as well. Going to 18's from 19's. Currently looking for a set of aspec rims.

245/40/18 rides a bit better for sure and it will fill out the wheel gap a bit as well.

I decided to stay with my 19's I lowered the tire pressure feels better and I'm raising
the front a bit. for some odd reason its slammed in the front and regular drop
in rear.
