Fuzion tires anyone?
Hey, have any of you tried Fuzions on your TL? I need to change my crappy stock tires, and the guy at Tires Plus was telling me about Fuzions. He compared them to the Pirelli Pzero Nero's, and the Michelin Pilots, and said they were very close in performance and sound, better as far as tread life, and cheaper than both of them. He is actually trying to downsell me, not upsell me, so he got some of my trust right there. He said that S2000 owners swear by them, and that the reason that they are still relatively cheap is that they are still a new company, but the price will be going up (and has already). Just was curious to see if anyone has expreience with them, and I am eferring to the W rated tires. Thanks!!!!!!

Fuzion is owned by Bridgestone/Firestone. They manufacture lower priced low(er) profile tires. Fuzion has 2 models, ZRi and HRi. I think you're looking at the ZRi. They're made in Japan, if that means anything.
I'm thinking of buying a set of HRi for my Accord. I think they should be pretty decent for the price.
Check Tire Rack for customers' review.

Thanks for the input guys!!! Hey Chris, can you tell me more? How long have you had them? Do you have the W rated ones? Are they quiet or noisy? I'm glad to hear the handling is good. I was gonna go with the Pirelli Nero's, but from what I have heard thusfar, the Fuzions are about the same quality and cheaper.

I hear they're good but obviously not state of the art. I guess you could say last year's technology at a significant discount. Very good value, though. Kinda like Hankook, Kumho, Falken. The Pirelli P Zero Nero are better, but they cost a lot more for only a little more performance.
Fuzion, like Hankook, are trying to break in to the N.American market and gain market share. Therefore, the price really is lower than what it should be and you're getting a good deal for the money. In a year or two when they have doubled their market share and establish their reputation, they are going to be more expensive. Don't wait until that happens. Grab them now before the price goes up.

I believe thay are quieter, and I believe they are "W" rated. The wear seems good so far, I had them 6 - 7 months and 5 - 6 thousand miles. Because of the EL42 issues, I got a small credit from bridgestone, and paid $300.00 for 4 (mounted, balanced, etc). I'm not sure how good this is, but I was pretty happy. Over all I'd say they are GREAT tires, probably not the same as the pilot sport, but they do not cost $225.00 ea. either.

Is Fuzion ZRI a good tire? I called Tirerack and the advisor said it's bascially a rebadged Potenza RE750 and it's excellent for the value. But a franchise Bridgestone/ Firestone manager told me Fuzion are 3rd rated tires and should be on old cars like 10 years old. Any comments for our fellow TLers having these tires???

I decided to get them anc am very happythat I did. They handle great and are very quiet. They are AWESOME in the rain. I got the Zri W rated tires and could not be happier, especially from the price. Get them now cuz the price is going to go way up very soon.

I've had mine on my 19's for 8 months now and couldn't be happier. They are 245/35/19 ZRI. The wear is great, no road noise, wet/dry traction is awesome (even ice with the VSA), an they look good too. I love the protection they give my rims, it has a little lip that sticks out a bit to help protect you from curb rashes and believe me it works.

Still had about 3K left on the old EL42s. Was going to drive 'em down to 2/32" here in my local area, but now I have to make a road trip to Dallas next week.
Got the Fuzion HRi (all weather) at Firestone (with road hazard) for $498 out the door. So far, very happy with them. They're so much quieter than the old worn out EL42s and handle great in the rain! You can get them at Tirerack.com for $89, but after you add taxes, shipping, mounting and balancing, Firestone was cheaper.
HRi review at tirerack.com
Plus with Firestone, you get a 30-day test drive on any Firestone tire! I can highly recommend this tires if you need an all-weather tire. Their summer tire, the ZRi, is also getting

From what I have read it sounds like ill be replacing the EL42's kinda quick, If Tires Plus is giving the same deal I will jump at the chance to put these on my TL. Why pay hundreds more for a more visible name brand, everyone seems to have had a good experience w/ these tires. Paid just over $500.00 w/ tax/disposal, etc.

Fuzion ZRi
Got them installed on my '05 TL and they are pretty honest tires for the price. And they look good too!
Much better than the OEM michelin energy that were on. However, they tend to be somewhat noisy, but I guess this is the price to pay for having ultra high performance tires.

On the other hand, adding a couple of pounds of air helps and they are less than half the price of the premium spread. I may well replace the RE-50As on my TL with them the next time around. They have a high 320 tread rating.

I just had them recommend to me as well by Tires Plus. I have the OEM michelins and have about 22500 miles. Actually, I have a cracked rim and need to replace it, so I was thinking about swapping the tires at the same time.
Having said that, how is the rim protection with the Fuzions? Anyone gone bigger? Like 245 45 17 or 255 40 17? I have read some posts about going to 255 40 17 for better rim protection and performance...any input?!?

I had Tires Plus recomend the fuzions yesterdaY ..i was surpised I needed them for my 05 TL after only 22k miles. (No surprise on the recomendation - i think Bridgestone now owns the Tires Plus stores) They quoted me $654 out the door.
2 quick questions:
1. do I have to stay with w-rated tires? is the suspension really tuned to w's? I don't drive like a race car driver. what is downside of going with a harder tire, like an H?
2. Is the $654 price fair these days.
3. has anyone bought other brands or from costco or other retailers in northeast? I'm in PA.
thank you

Just installed 2 fronts for now. Wife hit somthing and took out the sidewall. Call for a replacment price and qouted 280.00...Ouch. Car is 05 TL with 26K. Mich's are not at the wear bars but close.
They only had 2 in stock. Will get the other 2 next week. Cost 280K for 2 out the door with life time bal and stems. I did get teh ZRi rated tires. Nice pattern
Will give a update when I get more milage on them.

Picked up a set of 4
I picked up a set of 4 ZRi's to replace the Michelins on my 2005 TL. So far, they drive okay. Will report back after a few weeks of freeway and/or rain driving.
I am still kind of regretting I didn't get the Falken ZE912, mainly because they are popular sellers. The only thing is I would have had to wait a day, which I couldn't do because my work is too far and the spare wouldn't handle it.

i was running a bad camber and hence my falkens on my stockies disappeared in less than 20K miles....i blamed it on the tire and i got a great deal on the fuzions Hri's (not Zri's).....i got 4 tires, balanced, installed for $160
so i got these tires and have had them for ~5K miles.....pretty happy with these tires for the price i paid....kinda noisier than the falken ze912, but they stick to the snow a lot better....
if i had to list the pros and cons.....
pros:
cheap
better snow performance
more treadwear = more life
cons:
a little noisy
gas mileage down by 2-3 mpg
again this is for the Hri's and not Zri's !!!

I purchased a 2000 RL in April of 2011 with Fuzinon HR1 tires. These tires make more noise than than my '07 Dodge 4WD dually did.
I was checking out speed rated tires on the internet and a site brought out the fact that your car's braking, suspension, and handling characteristics are all designed around the original factory tires.
I think that I will stick with the factory.

^^^ depends how much you pay for them
I paid $150 for all 4 installed (almost new tires) and they lasted me 40-45K miles....so i found them to be decent enough...good traction and grip....they are a litte noisy but not too much....

After doing a lot or reading of reviews I've decided to go with the Cooper CS4 Touring tire. 90% of the reviews say that they are quiet and dry and wet traction are both very good.
The specs match my oem Michelins. 215/60/R16 95V

I replaced my Fuzion HRi tires early on my 2005 TL because the Fuzions were so damn noisy.
I still had about 20,000 miles of life left on the Fuzion's, but could no longer take the noise....sounded like the wheel bearings were all bad.
Got a new set of Cooper Zeon's, and all is nice and quiet now.
I sold the Fuzion's on Craigslist.
