Front tire wear anyone....?

I have 6858 miles on my TL. I stopped at a local gas station/foodmart for a candy bar, had my front wheels turned when I parked and noticed that the inside tread of both my front tires have been worn away. At 3101 miles, I had the dealer install the A-Spec suspension and Comptech RSB as well as perform a 4 wheel alignment. Has anyone else experienced this kind of rapid front tire wear?

I have 7500+ miles on my TL, and the front tires are worn out more than the back but not to the point where I need to replace them. Do you peel out constantly, if so thats what it is...

Sounds like something is amiss. If you are not getting even tire wear, than the alignment is not correct. As long as everything else is ok with the car that is...

I have never heard of burning just the inside of the tire off..

Yep, mine were just about gone at 5200 miles. I had Firestone replace them under warranty. I upgraded (see my sig) by paying $270 (for all four).

Firestone told me that the alignment was probably out when I purchased the car. They said that they are strapped down so tight on the trucks and that the dealers should be checking the alignment when they receive the cars...but the don't.

Haven't peeled out once yet. Waiting until I get my 18" wheels and tires on Glad I didn't already put them on

I suspect you are correct. But I just got my wheels aligned 3000 miles ago. They must have dialed it in wrong. Haven't hit a pothole or gotten off road yet. Going back to the dealer tomorrow.

How did you get Firestone to replace your tires for a poorly aligned front end???

There was no proof as to what caused the excessive wear, they only suspected that it was the result of poor alignment. And, they said they couldn't replace the OEM tires since they didn't sell them, so I had to choose another tire. I love what I have now!

Got it all sorted out. Went to the dealer today to have them take a look and the tires were worse than I first noticed. Not only were they worn on the inside treads, they were also severely cupped. Dealer is replacing the two front tires. Apparently, when they did my A-Spec install and 4 wheel alignment they had a bad set of tables on their alignment machine which was giving false readings. They have since had their machine inspected and corrected. So new tires and alignment and I'll be good to go!
