Front tire 2/32, back 4/32-can I rotate & hold off a week?

Front tire 2/32, back 4/32-can I rotate & hold off a week?
I took too long to decide that, yes, I want new wheels & not just new tires. Then I had to find what I want...
With the tread where it is, I'm wondering if I should go ahead & just get the tires or if by rotating them I could hold off a week or so until I got tires/wheels. Of course, until I got this taken care of I'd have to be careful, i.e. not drive much or in the rain or aggressively. What do you think?
