Front Hub Removal 08 TL

I am attempting to put longer studs in the front hubs of an 08 TL for a set of Mugen NR Mirror Face 18", the +55 offset requires spacers. I know there are a few people who have put the studs in with the hub still on the car, but I don't trust it. The way I see it I have two options.

1: Pull the knuckle off the car, take it to a shop and have the hub pressed in/out.

2: Use a slide hammer and hub puller to remove the hub. Using plenty of grease gently tap the hub back on until the axle nut will catch and then press the hub in the rest of the way by tightening the axle nut.

I found a hub removal DIY article on a 94 Legend. Seems to be a almost identical setup to the 3G TL.

Anyone tried the second method? Pros, Cons and any comments would be appreciated.

Success

I followed the method in the link and everything came apart and went back together with no problem. Time/$$ saver for anyone looking to remove the front hubs.

Goodluck

why didn't you just get adapters so you don't have to go through all that in case you want to put some other wheels on that don't need spacers?

Id follow the instructions from the book..... most mechanics i know say to replace the bearing once its been split apart in hub/spindal removal and installation.

I don't know about the "tighten as hard as you can" advice for the axle nut, but everything else seemed like good instructions.
