Good deal. I paid $600 for mine and it looked just like yours before you refinished them.

Yes. Bondo and Duplicolor paint and clearcoat. I also did a light metallic grey to give it sparkle which you can sort of see in the pic. Helped lighten it up a bit and fives great reflection when sun hits it.

Bought mine for $500 in pretty good condition. Kind of off-topic, but have any of you guys had experience removing the factory chrome?

I got my 18x8.5 A-Specs for $500 too

The chrome finish is just paint. Have it sandblasted off or use industrial strength aircraft paint remover.

I got a set for $300 off CL. I sanded them down, used bondo to fill in the rash, primed it, then painted it gunmetal. I put it up for sale on the FAcebook 3g TL page and got reamed for using bondo. I eventually sold them and made a decent amount, but you wouldn't believe the number of people who blasted me for using bondo to fill in the rash.

...so what were you supposed to use? Just curious as to what their alternatives were. Yeah man Craigslist can be a goldmine for locals because many times we forget that most Acura TL owners not that into cars and beat up rims are just that "beat up" rims they just want to make a couple of dollars on.

People were telling me that I completely destroyed the wheels by using bondo because it throws off the natural balance of the wheels. Sure, I could have had them professionally refinished for about $300 a wheel, but at that price, I may as well just buy a new set of wheels. I waited a few weeks, put them up for sale again, and the buyer was extremely happy to use them as a winter set.

You're positive that its just paint? Not the dipping method of chrome that has copper & other layers underneath? If not, that is awesome & ill be taking them to get blasted

Saw a set of waffles with Blizzaks (apparently with just a few months of use) for $450 on CL last night. Contacted the owner this morning and they were already sold. Figured I could flip the wheels for about $500-600 and the tires for another $300

If you decide to sell, let me know. I'm looking for some. Or would do a swap for my Type-S rims.
