Flat Spotting?

Just picked up my car today from having the front bumper repainted. I also had them look at the Vibration in the Steering wheel etc..... The guy told me that they balanced all 4 and said that the tires are known for Flat Spotting when parked for awhile. Says after the car has been driven for awhile, it should go away.

Anyone Heard of that before?

NEVER!!!

Just kidding... YES - quite common with Bridgestone and other tire manufactures.. It's due to the belt compound IE nylon etc.. I have even read where owners of 05 TLs with the Michelin's have experienced the same only to a lessor degree. I have an 04 with the EL-42 Bridgestones. The tires will not remain balanced... Good for maybe 500 miles then back to vibrating over 65MPH - not flatspotting (thats obvious enough in the am).... They will be replaced next spring.

Best of luck

Never heard of it until I bought this car - don't remember it happening on my last car which also had low-profile tires. But I always drove it with Cooper tires and then put on Falken before I sold it - didn't experience what I feel now. Never knew what flat spotting was - until this forum. Yep like KJ said - totally "normal" for these tires. Do some searches, lot of other tire recommendations etc.
