Factory wheel finish vs powder coat..
 

Is powder coat better or is it a toss up?

So I have 4 wheels that now have ~ 5 yrs of use.
Have some nicks and dings....

In need of new tires

Which route:

I have 19x8 in front now and want to go 19 x 8.5

SO:
$500 for 2 used 19x8.5
$300 for powder coat & fill of 4 wheels
-$250 sell the 2 old rims
about $550 total upgrade

buy 4 new refurbished for $1320 and sell 4 old wheels for about $600 out about $720.

it less than $200 difference. If powder coat is a lot tougher i'd probably lean that way. If not much difference I think the newer "factoy refurbished" would be better.

Wheels are painted from the factory, that's why the finish can peel and flake off after years of use. Powder is much thicker and what I recommend for a finish that'll last for years. I had my 18x8.5 A-Specs powdercoated in 2011 and they looked brand new when I sold them last month.
