Eibach Pro Kit input please
Has anyone used the Eibach Pro Kit springs to replace the stock springs that come on the 2005 TL (non A-Spec) ? I'm assuming that these springs would just replace the current springs that are over the struts....is that correct ? They lower the car about 1" to 1.5". Would I be better off replacing the entire assembly (strut and spring assembly) or would this work ?

You can definately go with just the springs. They will work with your stock struts. I did that for about a month before I blew a strut and then just replaced all 4. As far as the Eibach kit, some members are using it. Do a search. But I read somewhere about it not being level and sitting a little higher in the front than the back. Making it looked unbalanced.
I went for the Tein S-Techs. Which are basically the same type of spring just by Tein. Got em on ebay. They lower almost 1.5" and ride really well. I'm very happy with them. If I had to do it all over again though, I would go with coilovers. Tein makes a great set called the SS that everyone here is using. Do a search for Tein SS and you will know what I'm talking about. I ended up spending like $650 for my setup... after springs/install then shocks/install. You can get the Tein SS coils for about $850, which will give you adjustable height and dampening capability. It's really the only way to go. Do a search for MrHeelToe if you're interested cuz he can get you a great price on the Tein SS. He installed my shocks. Anyways, hope this helps.

Dark....Did you blow a strut because of the spring change ? I remember I talked to my dealership about this and they said there is some kind of "stop" that should be set on the strut if you change the springs to lower the suspension. He said that this stop would insure the strut doesn't reach it's excursion limit and cause damage....does that sound right ?

The dealer is talking about the bump stops. They need to be re-installed when you're installing new suspension. The bump stops protect the shocks from bottoming.
Prokit and Comptech on 6MT can make the car look uneven because of the lighter front end. The front end is not as low as the rear.
I know shocks are expensive, but it's highly recommended to get aftermarket shocks when you lower your car. The stiffer lowering springs will overwork the OEM shocks and this will lead to premature shocks failure.

260 HP....thanks for that info....I have heard that more than once. I don't really want to lower the car all that much so I think my best bet might be to eventually have the A-Spec struts installed.

I'm not sure exactly when the shock was blown. I think it was a massive pothole soon after the springs got put on. Nothing I could do about it. I'm super happy with the Teins though. If the stech is a little too low for you (1.5") then try the htech (.8"). More like aspec drop. Either way like 260 said, get some new shocks. You will FEEL the difference. Or like I said before, just bite and get the coils. You will be happy you did!!

Adamo0926, depending on your mileage it may not be necessary to get new struts. If you low mileage, 25-30K or less then the stock struts still have another 25K-50K left in them on average. The Eibach Pro Kit is not a very aggressive drop therefore they don't reduce the travel of the strut as much as some other more aggressive setups.
I noticed you are in CT. I am in Branford, CT (New Haven County). You can stop by the shop and check it out and talk to me further about your setup. I can also install the springs or any other suspension setup you want.
