A-spec tl comes with 18"... heavy wheels in theory will lower your mpg... but the weight difference compared to stock is not crazy so not really...
I went with 18" because they weigh 20-22lbs a pop... as compared to the stock 17" which weigh in at around 17"...
19" on the otherhand I have no experience with so cant comment

I had 19s on for a week and definitely noticed the sluggishness of acceleration. Just depends on the weight of whatever wheels you decide to go with.

I just went from 16 to 18s
It does seem a bit slower on accell- but the thermoblock and some secret mods should counter that
tire and rim combo is close to 40 lbs on mine- thats about stock weight
The real thing you notice is the abilty to dive into a corner with no pre-braking to set the nose, it just bites in and you ease back into the throttle and she digs in and turns like it was on rails.
Buy Goodyear F1 GS summers if you can, or so far the General Exclaims are working good in test runs on my backroads - no rain this week to test

All the world's a stage
Normally, larger diameter wheels would affect MPG negatively because of the extra rotational mass. It just takes more energy to spin them. This in turn affects acceleration and speed negatively as well. This is if the larger wheels weigh more than the stock wheels.

Keep'n it clean- Orlando
Dont forget the bigger the wheel the more Rotaional mass the engines power needs to turn x4 (4) being your wheels. So you will feel a slight decrease in acceleration, as well as handling, the bigger the wheel the more your car may feel like a boat around corners. but this question comes up way too much in the car enthusiest.
You just have to ask yours self, what do I value more? Speed/performance or looks?
Good luck.

I seem to remember going through this debate when I was deciding to move up in size or not. You need to remember that the weight is not just the wheels, but the tires too. My old wheels and tires was around 43lbs each (including both the rim AND the tire itself). Since they were worn out, I figure to be at new tread depth, you would need to add about a lb a tire. This takes it to 44lbs/each. My new wheel/tire combo weighs in at 46lbs/each. This is a 2 lbs difference that DOES make some difference in all aspects. Acceleration is decreased but fortunately, an after-market Cold Air Intake (CAI) pretty much offsets that reduction. Fuel milage went from an average highway of 29 to an average highway of 27 of course the smile on your face due to the nicer, more unique wheels offsets that aspect. The braking is increased by about 02.5453434% but then again an after-market Big Brake Kit would decrease the braking distance by about 25.00% (yep, the decimal point IS in the right place) so you could also offset that. Bottom line is, it's not enough to make a difference so go get you some wheels and stop your ride from looking like every other Tom Dick and Hairy out there!
