Dropped on Tein SS - power steering whine?
I'm on Tein SS's and immediately after install I noticed a power steering whine. I have them set at 1" up from the bottom like the instructions say (which is low at about 2")...
Ideas?
Also, how low can you go before you need camber kits? is there any adjustment from the factory in the rear?
Thanks

I have the same problem but mine wasnt caused by the drop. First check your p/s fluid level. Then take it in if your still under warranty. There is a new recall for the power steering hose. I just had it done but mine is a 04 6mt. The recall may not apply to your car.

There is no camber adjustment on the front or rear, only toe adj. on the rear. The general consensus on the TL is if your around a 2" drop or more, look at installing camber kits. I'm dropped roughly 1 3/4" front, 1 1/2" rear, my camber looked overly negative in the rear vs front. I installed the Ingall's kit on the rear, had the camber set to compliment the front when it was aligned.
I've never had any PS issue. Just had the recall done as well.

^ My pumps been making noise but the steering feels a little harder after the recall. I noticed when I first got my TL the power steering was way too assisting. The 07 loaner I was driving had a lot stiffer feel to the wheel. After the Recall mine feels stiff like the loaner I had.
OP, If your toe is straight your camber won't wear your tires unevenly. I've been dropped 2" front and rear for a year now and I'm still wearing evenly across my back tires w/o a camber kit. (if you have an alignment done, ASK FOR THE PRINTOUT!) You'd be surprised that alignment shops can make your car drive straight unknowing to you of the excessive positive toe. This way you'll be back prematurely for a new set of tires.
