dirty wheels

what can i use to dissolve all that black gunk inside the wheel? i grabbed a bottle of turtle wax rim cleaner and was very disappointed. i've heard Meguiar's hot rims cleaner is effective? i need something that's spray on and rinse off cuz those crevices and the area right behind the thick spokes of the stock rims are impossible to reach even with a brush.

Your best bet is to get a soft bristle brush. Whatever you use you'll need to agitate it a little.

I use Eagle One A2Z wheel cleaner. It works good.

ive found that no matter how goood the wheeel cleaner is you have to get down in there with a rag or a brush,,,,,,three or four times a year i just break down n take the wheel off and clean the whole thing and put em back on ......if u wax your wheels and keep them free of grease there usally easy to clean but u still have to get in there and wash em. you can try using a rag on the end of a stick ,,,i use those flat paint stir sticks works good when u dont wanna take ur wheel off.

Simple Green...works like a champ. Breaks thru any sort of grime, brake dust, road tar...I love that stuff! Like with any wheel cleaner NEVER leave the solution soaking on a wheel for an extended period of time.

i read somewhere SG has acid in it? wouldn't that eventually do harm to the clear coat? or if u have any scratches on the wheel.

Don't think so. Otherwise it wouldn't be biodegradeable.

And Never put it on a Hot Wheel too... make sure your brakes are cool and your rims is not hot enough to fry and egg on or your going to cause etching in the rim ..

has any1 tried Rain X Wheel Protector Brake Dust Barrier? i was looking at it today and it claims that after u have your wheel coated with this stuff, all subsequent brake dust n grim n dirt will just rinse off...that could save money on wheel cleaners...too good to be true?
