I think im ready to actually order my wheels now

Now, its time to decide on the tires....Do I want to go...

235/35 or 245/35

Next....which one (out of these) would you recomend?

-Dunlop Direzza DZ101
-Falken Azenis ST-115
-Falken Beta FK451
-Hancook Ventus Sport K104
-Kumho Ecsta SPT

-Thanks!

The Falken FK452's are the same price as the ST-115 (and IMHO a better tire). The FK451's were last years tire and not as quiet of a compound as the 452's. The lat Dunlops I had went out of balance easily (and they were the9000s. For the money, the 452' I hve now seem pretty good. You should also consider the General exclaim UHP. The tread pattern is not correct on some websites.

Cool, I went with the FK-452's 150 a piece aint bad

Quick question, I got the wheels with a +35 offset...is this going to be a problem? (5AT 3G)

JJaber - 35 offset should be fine as far as "tucking inside the wheel wells" as a number of us are running a 30 offset wheel with only minor rubbing. If these were 35 offset, I would not have that issue.

19 tires

Got to go 245/35 makes much more sense only problem is that all of those tires you listed are super cheap dont upgrade to 19" rims and put crappy tires on them buy some pirellis or goodyear eagle F1's PLEASE

I can't really afford to drop $290 per tire, sorry lol The FK-452's will suit my needs just fine

the hardest I drive my car is racing someone from light to light or on the freeway just cruising...I got 28,000 out of the EL42's

Great tires... expensive, and last about 20K miles.

Falken FK452 are a great choice for putting around MD.

JJ, you doin 99B's?

yes.. most aftermarket wheels have tapered lug hole seats.. OEMs have rounded/ball seat
i would suggest getting the gorilla instead of rays lugs.. my rays lugs seem quite weak.. not as strong as gorilla.. and gorilla is much cheaper

Oh yeah, lol one more thing, how do people get those long lug nuts? Like the ones that kind of stick out of the hole? Are they just longer in general?

those are called tuner lug nuts. tuner lug nuts are longer and usually have hole on the middle of the lug nut

In the past, I too have been closed minded enough to think that you always had to PAY top dollar to get top quality however, as I have aged, I have leaved that is not always the case. You may not realize it but Falken is getting to be a pretty well respected track tire so although the price is "reasonable", the 452 is not a "low end" tire AT ALL.

I have run Michelin's on my prior AMG car and Dunlop's on this one and even Pirelli's on my prior BMW 740iL. Although the Pirelli's were supposed to have been "The best" you could get at the time, they SUCKED! The Dunlop's held like claws in the rain but wore quickly. The Michelin's wore well and balanced well but also cost about 2x as much as others that have done just as well. So far, these 452's are like "claws" in the rain and remain balanced, are quiet, etc.

As you get older (and in theory wiser), you will realize that you do not ALWAYS have to pay a premium for a product in order for it to be quality.
