Talking Debating Tein ss or KW Variant 1 Coilovers

sup fellow az members i need help. Im looking to order either tein ss coilovers or kw variant coiolovers and im not to sure which one to pick up. Im looking to purchase these by this weekend because summer time is coming. But on what im really looking for is which coilovers go lower and has the better ride quality while being slammed. I plan to drop the car about 2.5 inches or a little lower and i tried reasearching but no comparison of these coilovers has been made yet so go ahead guys chime in the time is ticking thanks.

did you search? to me it doesn't seem like there are alot of guys with KW coils so i am not suprised that you are not getting any feed back. All you ever see around here is tein and now megans are starting to be more and more popular.

I'm thinking about either the KW, Eibach, or H&R coilovers because I don't really think I'll use the dampening ability of the Tein SS. I'm leaning more towards the KW Variants because of the reviews I'm hearing, plus they are not the "norm" around here.

Every person will vouch for what ever suspension is currently on their car. To me Megans has the most adjustments in both height and ride stiffness. Many members here have them and have nothing but good things to say about them. But the kw variants dont meet your drop either. It says it only drops it 2". :shrugs: I would look into Megans.

Why do people who want to research coilovers (or any part for that matter) only search the forum that they're a member on? You should do a google search and read reviews from other forums and other cars.

With that being said, you will find that there are more negative reviews than positive for both Teins and Megans. Many people have experienced squeaking with the Teins and "clunking" with the Megans.

I did an intense review of all options before I purchased mine and I found ZERO negative reviews for H&R - which is what I purchased and am very happy with. Simply cannot beat a German made product

the same reason why i ask the forum i am a member of is because i want first hand experience. Whos to say that the teins perform shitty on mazda will mean the will perform shitty on the TL. Also negative reviews are more abundant when there are more of their products out there. I can say that the first thing that comes to mind when i think of coilovers is Tein not cause i like teins so much but because i have come know teins as always having coilovers for ever car i am researching for.

When I stated that I've been reading reviews I didn't mean just from here. I've been all over the web and I've heard a lot of great things about all 3 suspensions. Chi17ky's review is what really has me leaning towards the kw's. I'm not just looking to be low but I'd like to be comfortable as well. But I know I'm never gonna slam my car b/c Philly street's suck and I'm not into tracking my car. So these should fit the bill.

Yeah he sent me some pics too... While I probably don't go that low, knowing he did and still has a comfortable ride is a plus .

Make sure to post some follow ups once you get that converted, definitely interested in parts and labor.

Yeah your car is looking great.

How stiff are these?? Is it necessary to go with custom spring rates with these guys?? Thanks.

KW coilovers are never stiff unless you buy a dedicated track setup. To determine what's best for you please give us a call or send us a Pm or email.
