Damn Turanzas Again!
Wanted to solicit some opinions. Acura of Boston replaced my original OEM Turanzas with new ones - no questions asked. Problem is the new ones are as bad or worse than the originals. Do I go back and have them potentially replaced again with the same crappy Turanzas again or do I demand a different brand. The Michelins that are on the 05s, don't have very good reviews in terms of performance (not sport performance, just performance as a tire).

I did the same thing. I spoke with the service manager and told them that there are known issues with the EL42s, vibrations when cold, bad traction when wet. I said that instead of going back to the dealership every month and complaining about the same issue, I would be willing to pay the difference to upgrade to better tires. I suggested the Bridgestone LS-Z or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. He talked to the regional rep and they agreed to swap out the EL42s for me for free. However any other issues that may come up would be between me and Bridgstone.

I did the same thing but my dealer insisted that due to warranty reasons, they could only reaplace the EL42s (read: they didn't want to spend a dime! ). So after many rounds with them, they agreed to giving me the new EL42s and I traded them in on some Proxes 4 elsewhere (didn't get much for them since they are retailing for around $100 at Tirerack). But it was better than nothing and my new tires are awesome!
Still wondering if I should blast the dealership on the customer satisfaction survey thing.
My advice -- DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET OUT OF THE TURANZAS!!!

I have to agree with Wanta, the Turanza's not only suck but they are unsafe in any sort of weather. You should do whatever it takes, including using your credit card, to get into a better set of tires. There are plenty of recommendations on the boards for Pirelli's, Falken's, and Pilots among others.
