Custom Center Caps for Axis Hiro
I love my Axis Hiro's but never really liked the fact that the center caps (which are really quality-made from solid aluminum) have this giant hole in the middle that captures and holds a LOT of water when you wash them. I work for with a lot of engineers and we have some really cool equipment. So I asked one of them to take measurements of the original Caps, create an 3-D rendering in ProE software, then use what we call the "Easy-Bake Oven" (which is this machine that will lay down tiny dots of plastic, one layer at a time, and can generate actual plastic parts from a drawing) to make me four new caps. The new caps are nearly identical reproductions of the originals, minus the large "Nut" in the middle. After the parts were made, I painted them with Duplicolor Red Anodized 3-step paint.
So let the pictures speak for themselves....

I think a side shot or angle shot of the entire car with them would be a better way to show it, I can't really say I feel or am not feeling the red until I get a better angle.... by the way the color does match the car though

Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate your honesty.
Yeah I need to shoot a picture of the entire car for you to get a better idea of how it looks. That shot of the wheel was taken in my dark garage with a flash, so it's not the best. Makes the center cap seem more prominent than it actually is. I will shoot a better pic soon and post it.

i think im too used to the original. its good contrast and really pops out (literally) like the rest of the wheel. if there is an issue with water being caught up, leaf blower it out ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
