Crazy tire wear! Any thoughts?

Hey guys, so I was going to rotate my tires today and noticed that the driver side rear tire had some pretty bad wear on the outside edge. When I pulled it off to switch it with the front, I found that the inside edge was very worn with belts showing. I have no idea what caused it, I don't see anything that it could be rubbing on. The passenger side rear tire looks great, as do all the others. The only thing I can think of is that the rear wheel alignment is WAY off, but can that cause tire wear like this to the point of belts showing?

Anyway, I'm going to need some new tires for the rear. Would there be any problems with just getting new back tires and keeping the existing front tires, since they don't have too many miles on them yet (20K miles)?

Here are some pics:

Thanks!

Is your car lowered? Looks like camber wear.

It's good to replace tires in pairs.
