Can I jack up @ rear subframe with 2x4 or 2x8 block?

the tow hook is well, too high and my jack doesn't lift high enough for me to crawl underand change suspension.

my jack rolls easily as it lifts or lowers.

Yeah, you can stack 2x8's or 2x10's under the jack to get the height you need, but only use that to raise the car enough to get jack stands under the side jack points to hold the car while you work on it. I nailed edge guards onto one of the 2x12's to keep the jack from rolling off:

^Thats what I will be building with some spare 2x8's I have laying around. My jack has enough lift to get my car off the ground but I need more lift for my wifes SUV.

Also, be sure to use jack stands when working under your car.
