i'm sorry for asking a stupidest question
but i'm 16, and i'm a total newbie...
i'm getting my brother's 04TL next month and i've been searching for cosmetic informations
i want to get a set of 19 inch black wheels first
and i've been seeing you guys talking about the tire size and the offset
and buying a new suspension and lowering it..
can anybody explain specifically to me?
why can't i just buy a 19'' wheel and put any tire that fits on any 19 inches

Cars, even those from the same manufacturer, have different specifications for brake parts, hubs, wheel bolt patterns, etc.; they are not universal. Each wheel must clear the brake parts, fit the car's hubs and bolt patterns, etc. Some wheels are made to fit multiple types of cars with some adaptation.
Your best bet is to visit a good website like "www.tirerack.com" that will explain the differences in fitment as well as give you an idea of which wheels will fit a TL.
Also, a search for "19" wheels" here will probably pull up a few threads.
