Question Camber out of spec -> Is it OK?

Hi guys,
I did a search on this but I need more specific numbers.
I put on my H&R Sports 2 weeks ago and just had my alignment done today. Here's what they saw:

Left Front -0.7 degrees Right Front -1.0 degrees
Left Rear -1.6 degrees Right Rear -2.1 degrees

The front are within spec from their printout but the back are out of spec. Anyone see similar camber after putting H&R sports on? Would anyone suggest a rear camber kit?

Thanks,
Matt

When I had the alignment done on mine, only my left rear was off by 1 degree. I believe anything more than 1 degree needs to be fixed, otherwise you're tires will wear very unevenly. I too have the h&r sport springs.

Thumbs up Camber Issues---NOT to worry!!!

I had virtually the same issue. In fact I still haven't done anything to correct my SLIGHTLY negative camber in the rear. Don't go buying "spacers" (Technically, they're called shims) Even if they're only ~$20. Here's the deal....

Rear Shim kits come with 2 sets of shims and longer bolts. Each set is for one side. The reason for two shims in each set is that it gives you the option of using a thicker or thinner shim (or both if your camber is really bad) depending on how bad your camber is. Typically, the set consists of one shim that is .125" thick and one .188" thick. The guy who aligned my car said that all I needed on one side was one .188" thick shim and the .125" on the other side taht wasn't so bad. He also said that I wouldn't necessarily have to change the bolts because it's not urged unless you exceed .312", or both shims stacked. So after talking to the guy a little longer it dawned on me to go to Home Depot, Lowes or another place that sells hardware and simply buy large washers that were .125" and .188" thick, bearing in mind that the inside hole of the washer needs to be large enough for the bolt to go through. Then all I would have to do is "sandwich" each of them between the suspension arm and the frame of the car around the bolts, keeping in mind that the side with slightly worse camber would need the slightly thicker washer. Actually, I plan on doing mine this weekend.

PROBLEM SOLVED FOR UNDER $3.00 ! Good luck!

Hi guys,
Thanks for the feedback! I'm gonna let mine be for a while since I don't really like the stock tires anyways...I'll probably rotate more often than usual to distribute the wear.

Conteez,
Please give us an update on how it goes.
