Question Camber kit, difference between top 1 arm and bottom 2

Anyone know the pros and cons of one vs. the other?

It looks like the bottom two bring the bottom of the tire in to adjust camber.
It looks like the top one arm brings the top of the tire out.

I am currently very close to touching the fender and don't really want to have to roll fender to staighten camber. What do you guys think? The bottom 2 arm one would be better for this, right?

Thank you in advance...

When I did mine I looked at the same thing .. because it pivots one way or the other both will bring the top out but to me it looked like the bottom ones brought it out less.

I used the bottom ones and it definatly did bring the top out.

Thanks for the feedback man...
So you used the bottom ones and you were able to get the numbers within spec, right? But when you say "brought the top out", aren't the 2 arms a little shorter than the stock ones so what they actually do is bring the bottom in and in turn, making the camber more like 0?

Also...I'm HEAVILY considering going with the no name brand ones...they are 75 shipped. Part of me just doesn't want to pay for name brand on something that is very mechanically simple.

Has anyone given these a shot?

Yes but that would be only true if the top arms were right at the top which they arent. The top of the tire is higher than the mounting point of the top arm.
When you adjust the lower arms in for camber / toe it pivots the top out.

Only thing that makes me nervous about a rear kit like that is its prolly made in China and I've seen too much crap come out of there to be putting it on my suspension. Or crap bushings and have them wear out in 5K.

That's what I was thinking...I think I might cough up the scratch for the Ingalls. Bad bushings would suck!

Did you do the fronts too? I'm not into the idea of having to replace the ball joint and I am doubtful the place I get alignments will be taking off the tire and putting it back on to check and then taking it back off again repeatedly to get it right anyway. If I remember correctly..at it's worst I was running -1.4 in the front, which is almost factory setting for the rear to begin with.

That's good to know. Thanks...Just the rears for me then...I'm hoping to salvage the uneven wear before I'm past the point of no return.

See...of the name brand kits, it seems they only have the 1 armed kit. Anyone have any feedback on these?

PS...for the cheap ones I inquired about above...I asked the question. Here is an interesting response. Figured I'd post for all to see in case you were considering it.

Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing this camber kit for my 2004 TL. I don't get caught up in name brand for something like this that is a simple design. I just wanted to ask you honest feedback on the material you use to make the bushing and the strength of the metal used to make the arms. I just want to make sure I won't have a problem. Where are they actually made and who makes them please.

RESPONSE:
hi, they are well made products. We never received any complaints about it. We offer 6 months warranty against manufacturer's defects. They were made in Taiwan by manufacturer who makes OEM control arms. Thank you

Sure enough...I did.
Build quality is fine...the sent me 5 Left Hand endlinks and only 3 RH ones but they're USPS priority shipping me the correct one so no harm there. I'll let you guys know once I get an alignment.

How many endlinks are u supposed to get with the Ingalls camber kit? I thought it was two bars, to be switched out that are adjustable. Obviously, I am confused! Does anyone have a clarification, or maybe this is not the same piece of the puzzle I am looking for. I am going to be i need of a camber kit, asap, so I appreciate any advice on what camber kit to get(back only, I think). Thanks in advance

Ok. So then when you order the camber kit, does it come with both bars and all endlinks, per side? So I would have to order both sides. I think I saw them for around $75 per side? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I order the correct parts needed. BTW, nice WDP! I like all the mods, so far that you have chosen, and thanks for the help!

Thanks, I assume those are the end links on each bar. I am sure it looks even better now! How is the vinyl roof overlay holding up? How much did you pay? All 1 piece? Thanks, I also may have some detailing questions for ya, in the future!

AND we're back!
Back on topic and back for review.
Ok...so they rectified and sent me the correct endlink. One of the LH ones wouldn't thread completely in. I tried forcing it but couldn't get it to where LH and RH were even. Emailed the ebay company a pic and no problem...priority shipped me another one. Got it right finally.

Nice to deal with. Install was easy. Can be done by just jacking up the back of the car with wheels on, but easier if you take off wheels. Got an alignment and what do you know...it did it's job. Camber at -.5 rear now -1.5 front. I should have done this when I bought my tires. Oh well, made it a year and a quarter without it. Anyway...for $85 shipped I don't see why you wouldn't do this. Quality product with no name brand. For something you never see, I don't care to pay for name brand bling so anyone out there questioning whether or not to give it a whirl. I personally have no regrets and give it 2 thumbs up.
