Camber kit/coilovers

Hello! I have a question and i'm hoping the acura community can give me a hand. I have a 2004 acura tl. It's lowered and sitting on 20" rims. It's lowered on Tein lowering springs and that's all. It has a very rough ride when it reaches 45ish mph and the lug nuts always.come loose. I have a few questions. 1.) I know i need a front and rear camber kit. What's the best brand to buy? Are there any extra things i need to buy in order to properly install both the front and rear camber kit? 2.) I also want to buy coilovers. What's a good brand to buy? 3.) Will a camber kit, coilovers, and a realignment fix the lug nut problem and smooth my car's ride over? Thanks!

1) Are you using aftermarket lug nuts or the stock OEM nuts that come with the car? Since you are using aftermarket wheels you need 60 degree conical seat lug nuts and should NOT be using the stock ball seat OEM lugs. This could be the main reason why your lug nut are coming loose.

2) Best coilovers are subjective, but if you're looking for ultimate ride comfort get Tein Street Advance coliovers or ISC N1's with street comfort spring rates. Both have good ride height adjustability and damper settings.

3) For the camber kits get the Ingalls kit for the rear and Skunk 2 upper control arm kit for the front.

I am currently using a few aftermarket lug nuts and wheel studs bought from autozone and the stock lug nuts. I had to replace some of the wheel studs because the lug nuts unscrewed while i was driving, resulting in the wheel stud snapping off. Will my problem with the lug nuts backing themselves off be solved if i replace all of the lug nuts with the 60 degree conical seat lug nuts? If I replace all of the lug nuts, will I have to replace all of the wheel studs as well? Assuming I don't have to replace all of the wheel studs, is there a certain lug nut size that I need to buy?

You have to run all aftermarket conical seat lugs, you can't mix and match stock lugs and aftermarket ones. That is your issue. The lugs are not seating properly and the rotation of the rims is causing the stock lugs to come loose. Having aftermarket studs does not matter as long as they are the correct size which they probably are if they match the stock studs. So no, you don not have to replace them.

Buy lug nuts from ebay as they are probably the best place you can find them for cheap. The thread type you need is 12x1.5mm.

Here is a basic example of what you need http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrome-Splin...111bad&vxp=mtr

Ok that helps out a lot. I'm looking up coilovers and camber kits now. The Tein Street Advance coilovers are a little out of my price range. I did find this though:
Amazon Amazon

Does this look like something that would suffice?

I have never seen anything like that before. I wouldn't recommend getting them. Save your money for legit coilovers. Most coilover setups will cost $800+ brand new, but they are worth every penny. Or you can try to buy a used set on the Black Market here on Azine.

I am using Amazon to search for these parts. The website is recommending that I buy an adjustable ball joint as well. Thoughts on that?

Alright, I'll check out the Black Market for coilover kits. How about this for rear camber kit:
Amazon Amazon

Sorry for all the questions! I just need as much advice/pointers I can get so I can fix all of these issues with my car in one go around.

Adjustable ball joint what? Front camber kit? You can buy that kind, but the Skunk 2 UCA kits are 10x better as far as quality and adjustability.

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...0870//Acura/TL

This is the Ingalls rear camber kit to buy
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ingalls-r...ide-38725.html

You can search around for the cheapest price for the front and rear, I'm just doing a quick search to show you what one's to buy.

Also if you are having a problem with loose lug nuts and crappy ride. You may want to get the wheels balanced. Newer aftermarket rims are hard to keep a good balance due to how they put the wheel weights on.

You could be experiencing extreme wheel vibration from being unbalanced and that could also cause lug nuts to back off. Also make sure you torque them to spec.

Lug studs are pretty easy to replace, especially the rears.

The fronts can be replaced without taking off the knuckle but you do have to cut the brake shield to get them out. And you will have to cut a little part of the round part holding stud to hub. It is not enough to weaken stud but is necessisary to get new stud in without damaging threads.

I'd recommend INGALLS camber kits. Their rear kit includes an arm for camber and for toe.

Qty of 2 needed.

If you're on a budget and want good ride quality I would suggest TEIN Street Basis coilovers. It's designed for a daily driver and the valving is spot on.

If you get the tein street advanced coils and keep them on the highest setting, do you still need a camber kit?

Are you referring to damper adjustment or height adjustment?

If you put Tein (or any brand) coilovers on you can have the damper set at whatever you want, that doesn't affect camber.

What affects the camber is the ride height. The general rule of thumb is if you plan on dropping the car 2" or more a camber kit is recommended.

Thank you for that final little piece. I am wanting to lower my Base '06 TL on the stock wheels on Tein Stechs and didn't know if i needed the camber kit as well.

No problem. If you are just doing lowering springs you won't need a camber kit, unless something goes way out of spec and needs to be corrected. But it is highly doubtful you will have a problem. Typically springs don't lower a car more than 1.5"
