Camber kit !!!?!?!?
 

i was wondering what was a good company for a camber kit and also if i needed it for both front and rear i notice that this is a noob question but wanted to be informed about this info. i just slammed my car on some tien ss and theres like a 1 - 2 finger gap maybe 1.5. would i even need a camber kit. i dont want my tires to have camber wear and have to change the tires out constantly. i drive a 3g tl. thanks for all your info and help:tomato:

go get your car aligned, that will determine if you need a camber kit.

again, we cant really help u unless u give us ur alignment specs. i would say anything more than a -1.50 degrees u will start to see wear fast. Having all TOE set to 0 will help prolong the life of ur tires. just rotate them often like every 3-4k miles

Very simple to tell just by eye ing or checking the tire wear.

1. Park on a flat surface and from the back, check to see if your wheel is leaning in from the top.. Most human can tell of their wheel is leaning or not.. If you are not sure, get a book, set it next to your wheel and see the gap between the wheel and the edge of the book. That should help.

2. Extreme camber will wear out 200-300 tread wear tires in less than 1000 miles. Tires will wear far inside of the car to outside. Measure your tread depth from inside the car to outside first, drive 100 miles or so and check. This should also give you an idea how long your tire will last with that camber. If you wear off 1/10 inch in 100 miles, YOU definitely need to change it.. unless you are setting up for a race and this type of camber will help with your turns.

Taking it to an alignment shop to see if you need camber or not, the shop might charge you a small fee or a full fee. Make sure you call the shop and ask first. Otherwise, you might need a kit and then pay again for another alignment.

I lowered my car to where the topes of the wheels line up witht he fenders, I got a ingalls camber kit for the front and never needed it, So i have it sitting here on my desk trying to sell it. I also got a camber kit for the rear, and that was definately needed. So needing one or not is going to be determined by how much you drop your car.

Virtually every 3rd gen TL needs a rear toe/camber kit after being lowered. I'd recommend the INGALLS kit since it includes 2 arms (one for toe and one for camber). You will need a qty of 2.
