Bridgestone Turanza EL42 VS. Michelin Pilot HX MXM: Which are worse?
It seems most of the users here berate the Bridgestone Turanza EL42s. Fortunately for me, I got my '05 TL with the A-Spec package pre-installed, including the 18" wheels and Pirelli P-Zero Neros. But the dealer also included the original stock 17" wheels and Michelin Pilot HX MXMs as part of the deal. From what I've seen on other websites, the Michelins are pretty hopeless. But I'm just wondering if they're as hopeless as the Bridgestones that most of you seem to hate. I'm thinking of putting the stock TL wheels and the Michelins (which have never been used) on my Legend.
Would this be a major mistake? Should I just get rid of those Michelins (and maybe even the wheels)?

Look them up on tire rack.
While most people complain about the tires on their cars when they
wear down, the EL42 gets bad marks from everyone right off the bat.
On my car, they seem to have little traction even on dry roads!

Thanks for the input. I did look them up on the TireRack website, and the reviews of the Michelins from users are pretty frightening. Subjectively, they seem to be on par with the Bridgestones, although the numbers from user surveys would tend to suggest the Michelins hold a slight advantage.
Anyway, I tried mounting the stock TL wheels on my Legend this afternoon, and they don't fit (not because of the bolt pattern). So I'll probably get rid of the tires and the wheels as a combo.
Anyone have any idea what kind of price I might get for them?

You can probably modify the wheels. What I mean is I installed wheels from a 2000 TL on a 91 Legend. The bolt pattern is fine and the offset is fine but the middle won't fit over the large Legend hub. I found a good machine shop locally and they machined out the middle center hole on each wheel but only on the inside so that the hubcap still fit the wheel. They needed to be less than a quarter inch bigger. They didn't machine all the way to the outside so the original TL hubcaps were used, i.e., you can't tell from the outside that any modification at all was done to the wheel. What did it cost? $75 total and I picked up the modified TL wheels the next day. If you can find a shop, take the TL in and they can easily measure the Legend hub to see how much needs to be cut from the inside of the TL wheel.
