Question Bigger wheels

I just bought a set of 16" chrome edge daggers from and had them installed. The wheels look hot, but not as hot as they would look if they were 17's or 18's. The reason I did not go larger is becuse I did not want to alter that comfortable ride. I even notice a slight ride difference when I go above 80 with these wheels. Do you guys( and gals) feel a subtle or drastic ride change with those larger wheels? Take in mind, I live in Philly, pothole city. The hot city, but pothole city.

i thought ride quality is mostly due to the tires (different models) and also the profile? but from what i have heard we have 17 inchers on our tls and most people still feel pretty ok with 18" if they have good tires

Tire pressure plays a huge role in ride comfort and gas mileage. When I drove to michigan, I filled my tires up to 36psi's and the speed was amazing and the car moved like hell. Also, gas mileage went up. However, I did notice that you can feel a lot more bumps than 32psi. Next, I deflated to 30 and it was really smooth but the car wasn't quick and i could feel the difference on the highway. Make sure your tire pressure is 32psi when COLD. That is, check your pressure in the morning before you drive your car. Even if you drive it a mile, it will make a difference.

yeah supposedly you should, so you can have more traction at high speed. but keep in mind that has nothing to do with acceleration at all. acceleration would still be like an arse if you have low pressure, but eventually you would reach high speed. however if you wanna achieve high speed fast, high pressure is the way to go

i have read the tires manual that if u put high pressure and running at high spd....u have a greater chance to blow ur tires...

if ya notice people who drag race at the strip..they lower their tire pressure for traction purposes and what not..

NONONO!!!

Running the car at lower tire pressure WILL and IS the cause of blown tires.

with a lower tire pressure, the tire will bend more, and as your speed increase there will be more heat in the tire, and the tire structure will get weaker, too...

With a higher pressure, your tire does not bend that much, and as your speed increase, the extra pressure induced by heat is gonna be okay, because it's been calculated when they design the tire. And that's why they have speed ratings...

With a lower tire pressure, the tire will actually handle WORSE.

Traction wise, those dragster tires are not NORMAL tires, and they don't need to turn... strip and track uses different setup. so does street driving...

But no... lower is not better and NOT safer...
