Best places for getting tires mounted and balanced?

Well... I called Sears and found out about the "Bend Over" special they had, but decided to pass ($50+ per tire...)

I think PepBoys said they would be about $21 per tire, which sounds good, although I'm not sure of their "quality" for this job. (Not knocking them, just don't know...)

Anybody have any great places??? THanks...

Stay away from Pepboys unless you want your wheels scratched to shit. I had them mount tires on a Mazda Millenium that I had and they scratched the wheels and didn't bother to tell me. I noticed them when I went out to get into the car. They gave me nothing but a hassel regarding getting them repaired.

I went to a Chev dealer that had a Hunter Road Force balancing machine. (I am sure they do a lot of Vette's). You can go to their web site (http://209.176.154.132/index.cfm), which has a locater page, that will help find the closest shop that has one. Any shop who has one of these machines can balance low profile tires (it won't be cheep.) I just had mine done (removed the OEM Michelin's and put on Pirelli Nero Zero's. Paid $140 for mounting and balancing. My 05 TL rides nice and smooth, and the wheels have no scratches. Very happy with the job.

In Northern Virginia, I've found the best place to get tires mounted and balanced is Brown's Arlington Honda. http://arlhonda.brownscar.com/Default.aspx
They have (or had when I had new tires put on my CL last year) a special where they do $60.00 for all four tires, tax and fees included. They do a lot of Honda performance modifications, so I guess that is why they have the great price there. I was really happy with the work they did. You can even have TireRack.com ship directly to the service department.
