Beefy Tire Setups, Show Us What You've Got!
Don't think there's a thread on AcuraZine for this so I figure I start one. Derived from this thread: http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/8099...-tires-thread/
As the title says, show us your beefy tire setups! I've done a slight stretch in the past and realized although the stretch setups look great when done right, it's not practical for everyone. Hopefully in a few months I'll have some new tires in. But since I don't have a beefy setup yet I'll post a few pics of other cars to start it off. Also, please post your tire/wheel specs if you can  http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...82163472_n.jpg Specs Unknown http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3034/...fb7813fc_o.jpg Wheels are 18x10.5 +18 CE28-N's with 275/35/18 NT01's |
Im running 255/40/17 on stock rims
|
loonat1x pulled it off pretty nice with a roll and pull fender work. i dont know if your into that but check this thread out. this is the only beefy tire setup/stance i like! although b for brian pulled it off nice too. i think they are running 265 or 275's here check this thread out hope it helps

My kinda style here. Good thread OP.
Sick of seeing these malnourished looking "stretched" tire setups. |
Finally getting away from that retarded stanced shit. I like it.
|
Gotta like the look of a lot of rubber hitting the ground.

Attachment 113390 https://i.imgur.com/hzHZb.jpg Attachment 113391 The TL belong to Andy and he is member of azine. The TL is rolling 17″ Motegi Tracklite V2 Forged and wrapped in 265mm Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. |
Just figured I'd ask, what's the widest that works well on stock rims? I'm ran 275's on an 8" rim, 285's on a 8.5" rim and have 295/30/20's on my Impala now on a 9" wide rim, our stocks are 8" wide right? Anybody run 255+ on a stock rim?
|
^255 on stock rim is good to go, but are you talking about 265 or 275 on stock rim?
|
265 has been done on stock 8" rims. Look up user "spiritman" .... something like that. His thread is "They Said It Couldn't Be Done" .... something like that anyhow.
And I think someone put 285 or 295 on the rears, but that wasn't stock rims .... 10.5", I think. Here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/they-said-couldnt-done-626278/ On A-Specs, not 17" stockies.

Nice, this thread is going somewhere!
|
Finally a tire thread that doesn't make me want to puke. 255s on stock rims that I've owned with the Nittos being the best by far:
Nevermind, apparently my host site is changing owners. Got to find a new one. |

Nice stance btw. Oh.. and are your fenders rolled/pulled? Wheels: Work CR Kiwami 9.5 +30 Tires: 265/35/18 I did roll and pull the fenders. After the winter I am going to do a bit more work To where the front bumper and fenders meet and probably pull the drivers side rear a little more. |
^what?! 265 on the front and with 30+ offset? That is some serious fender work in the front. I thought Loonatix14 was the only guy with the 265 in the front with the aggressive offset.
What brand of the tires you are rolling? |

What brand of the tires you are rolling? I raised the car up a little to stop any rubbing. I did just order some 255's for the front so I can take it down a bit. When I first got my rims I was running 235's which didn't provide any protection to the rims. In 1 month I had about 10-15 rock chips on my rims... so, I went wider. And to be quite honest, I love the beefy tire look  |
^I must tell you, I love your TL with those beefy tires. How much negative camber do you have in the front? How badly was you were rubbing with the 265?
|
Those 265's look good, I'll probably get 255/40's since I plan on sticking with stock rims next time.
|
Nice.. 265s on all 4 corners. Do you know if I need to get my fenders pulled if I run 265s in the rear? Or will just rolling the fenders be enough? I'd like to run 275s if I could.. :(
Rims are 19x9.5 +35 in the rear. |
I <3 this thread.
|
beefy tire thread! |
Just curious what mpg people are getting with ultra wide tires?
|
This thread is full of win... Battle Stanced FTW

Honestly, I'm not to sure what my camber is set at. I haven't gotten a realignment since I installed the Tein suspension. I will be getting my alignment done on Monday. I'll post up my printout when I get it.

"My MPG is the same as it was before. As of right now, I am currently getting 30-31 HWY & 21-23 drinking on the upstate NY country roads. Either way, I feel so planted on the road when I am driving."
See? That's why they say "don't drink and drive".....lost 10mpg while drinking!:what: |

Food for though, 285s are built for a 10.5 wheel when you want the car to handle stiff. |

My reverse stagger track setup. 255/40/17 up front on 17x8 BBS RC et 42. Rears are my wedssport's 18x8 et 42 with 235/40/18. I love how the reverse stagger handles on the track on the street. More meat where its needed.

Moar and larger pics.

Beefy tires for a more comfortable ride??
|
I've been playing with the idea of getting some 18x9's.

Thread says "show what you got" not "tell what you want" :tomato: |
