are you gonna daily drive this car all year round? I love the idea of air bags and would possibly do it if I wasn't scared of driving in -40C weather on them.

I would never bag a daily. There's always a Potential for a lot of leaks. Valves can freeze and stick. I have a bagged showtruck that gets worked on as much as it gets driven. I don't care how good the install is, there's a lot of things that can happen, which IMO makes it unreliable. Maybe if you were in a warm state, but year round on a bagged vehicle, in a cold state....NO

I've heard from a guy that services trucks and stuff with air suspension that they have a lot of problems with stuff freezing in winter and such. I know that there are a lot of cars that come with air ride stock, I haven't heard of too many problems with those. But if there was one I bet it'd be expensive. I might talk to a shop that dervices those kind of cars and see what they think

Myron, do you mean semi trucks?

On OEM stuff, there are NO manual valves (actually ILLEGAL in many areas). When you bag a vehicle, usually you install manual valves to control ride height. You must have a fill AND a dump valve for each wheel. That is that many more fittings to leak, seep, break, etc. Less connections=less chance of leaking. Also there are no tanks(MORE fittings) on OEM setups. Its just usually like an auto leveling system type thing, so the compressor just runs thru the lines, to the bag. Not to mention check valves, water traps, relays, compressors, pressure switches, etc.

my wifes escalade had the auto leveling shit, I ditched it when the shocks started leaking and installed bilsteins. The compressor burnt out due to a leaking line, and had been that way for YEARS. Thats HER daily. And I made that decision coming from a fairly extensive air ride knowledge.

Once you get that involved with a vehicle...
1. shouldnt be your daily
2. be prepared to work on it yourself mostly. Its not like you can take it to your corner mechanic because your compressors arent running. owning something like that (bagged, NOT FACTORY AIRRIDE) FORCES you to DIY most things. Unless you have unlimited funds and just pay to transport it to wherever, to pay outrageous shop fees.

its not rocket science, but you have to be more of an "enthusiest"

Sorry OP, not trying to hijack your thread, but I gotta whore her out.
I know a lot of you guys dont like us "minitruckers" BUT custom IS custom

i had a range rover with factory air suspension and live in NJ. I can tell you in the winter its a pain in the ass. Even factory the compressor doesn't pump as smoothly or the solenoids stick, its just not that much fun. I think it would be a lot worse on aftermarket parts that are prone to leak.
