Anyone have Toyo Proxes ?
Thanks for the feedback so far....I'm going to need some new tires soon and will get either the Toyo Proxes or the Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S (which I had on my last car and I really liked them)....but I am sure the Proxes are a great tire as well.
Let me know even more specifics:
1) Wet traction
2) Noise
3) Ride comfort
4) Have you used them for all season driving ?
And whatever else you think is important to add !

wet traction is great! i felt extremely comfortable with them.
noise is very minimal, i didnt experience any droning at highway speeds or higher.
ride comfort on the 18s was about as good as it can get, i actually felt the ride get better with the toyos when i replaced my yokos.
all season - YES, i used them in light and heavy snow. snow is fine, they can take it, just take your time. BUT they are not great on hills in heavy snow. the car handled fine in deep snow with 4 people in the car, i just took it easy on turns.

When I wear out the stock tires, I'll put FZ4's on. In fact, I might do it earlier than that because the stock tires SUCK in snow.
I have the Toyos. Dry and wet grip are very good.
I do disagree with other posters regarding noise. I do sense a droning on the highway at times. It is not very loud, and I think the tire's pros DEFINITELY beat its cons.
I have heard that the Proxes 4 are not very good in the snow. Since you are in CT, you will probably face snow. However, note that I have never used them in the snow (I have dedicated snows) so this is basically hear-say.

T1r
I just replaced the prematurely worn Bridgestones with Toyo Proxes T1Rs (stock 17" wheels). So far, I'm extremely pleased. Steering effort is slightly increased, but one effect that surprised me was significant reduction in torque steer. I guess the extra resistance of the Proxes contact patch helps out. They are not any noisier than the OEM tires. Haven't had the on long enough to judge wet weather performance.
These tires don't overcome the inherent dead feeling of FWD steering in the TL, but the car definitely goes where it's pointed and sticks well past the limits of riding on the street.
P.S. I also just finished a second winter using Vredestein Wintrac tires, which I also highly recommend. They're squirmy on dry pavement but fantastic in the snow.

Thanks everyone for giving your critiques of the Toyo Proxes. I have decided to go with the Proxes 4 since I want an all season tire....yes these are the times I wish I lived in Arizona...lol.
winter and summer
If you can afford it, having winter and summer tires is a great solution. Direct Tire up here stores the unused set for a reasonable fee. My TL with winter tires easily coped with the worst winter storms, while the T1Rs are much better than the all-seaons Bridgestones in the temperate months. All season tires are always a compromise; I'll use them on my van, but not the TL!
